FINDING MAX POWER GENERATION OF A FUEL CELL AT DIFFERENT HYDROGEN FLOW RATES

For one of our lab projects we were given the option to cook up an experiment, so my group and I decided to use this opportunity to explore with the hydrogen fuel cell we had. We decided upon two objectives: the first to understand the max power generation at the various flow rates of hydrogen, and the second to understand what portion of energy went to heat generation in our cell. We used a variety of tools, such as the Keithley 2400 sourcemeter (to plot voltage against current via step tests and current sweeps), compressed hydrogen gas, an adiabatic box (for the heat tests) and a lab tracer program.
